What happened? Posted by Devalinda on April 27, 2023, 12:52 pm Can someone tell what happened when you left from PV with residente permanente? Did you go to the Immigration office like before or what dod you have to do.? Just wondering what actually takes place when you check in. THANKS for sharing😊

It is business as normal, NO visits to immigration check, no forms to be filled out, just go to the airlines counter and carry on like most other countries, it would appear that they only want to see the card on the way in and don't need when exiting the country.

When I left from ZLO on March 26, I’m a permanent resident, I still had to go to the immigration office and have my passport stamped before I could get my boarding pass. I don’t know but perhaps that’s changed in a month. At the PV airport the immigration desk is just to the right as you enter the main departure doors.

I left from there at the end of March and had to get my passport stamped at the immigration office, that was it. Also while entering the country, no more forms to fill out and keep with you until your next visit, just go through passport control with your permanent residence card and mention that you are entering as a resident.

Thank you...I thought we still had to go to immigration, but just wanted to make sure...I know a couple of people with temporary status and they said they did not have to go to immigration, which seemed a bit strange to me. Maybe they changed it or maybe we now have some people getting passports stamped and others who wont have stamp???

I was told that was not going to happen any more and I just went and checked in and got to the holding to load, very easy and so much nicer. Happy Travels Linda

Re: What happened? Posted by david dagoli on April 28, 2023, 10:19 am, in reply to "Re: What happened?" We have Residente Permanente, and flew ZLO through Mexico City. The airline advised us to have our passports stamped by immigration in MEX, Terminal 2. There was no form to fill out.

Re: What happened? Posted by Mazinkah on May 2, 2023, 11:32 am, in reply to "Re: What happened?" I just called Mexico City airport immigration and was told that one does have to go to the immigration booth to have the paperwork seen to. According to him, all permanente residents have to do this!

I went to the immigration desk, and was told to just go to the airline desk. At the Alaska desk we had to show our green cards, passports, got checked in and off we went to gates. We were also traveling with a dog. Did not have to show her records till we arrived in Seattle.

I did go to immigration and the officer said no nada...he did not want to know anything or see any papers or ID and just kept shaking his head and saying no and que viaje bien.....so.....I left.

I arrived at ZLO yesterday, asked, and was told to go to immigration before checking in. He stamped my passport and sent me on my way. In the check-in line,a woman checked my Passport and asked for my immigration form. Other people in line had one, but I did not. She found where my Passport was stamped and let me continue. Another couple from La Manzailla, also Residentes Permanentes and on the same flight, had gone directly to the ticket counter and had their Passports stamped there. They didn't get the INE form either. We may be confused about departure protocols at ZLO, but the people working there apparently are none the less so. On a positive note, there was no blue form to fill out and present at US Customs.
