Weather report from the North Posted by Michigan Christina on May 1, 2023, 10:42 pm Hello dear La Manzanillans. Nathan and I are back to our Northern home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spring has come on here very lush and beautiful, but winter has not let go. It’s snowing and sleeting today and should be in the 70s most of next week. In the meantime it’s full winter gear for me. I would much rather be wearing shorts and a tshirt. I am missing the Sun, the heat and all of you warm friendly people. They come early, beginning in March with Hepetica and many others. They take advantage of all the sunlight on the forest floor, before the tree canopy leafs out. Once the trees are fully leafed, the spring ephemerals are gone. Then it’s on to the summer wildflowers.
