Championship Futbol Posted by Ronald Goodspeed on August 14, 2023, 1:20 pm Hello Friends and Fans, Our local young mens futbol team, ages 16 & 17 have won the Costa Sur Division of the Jalisco Cup with a record of 14-2. Coach Agape and the whole team are very proud that they have been invited to play a top quality team, "Tornado" this Saturday in Guadalajara. Scouts from professional teams will be in attendance. The team is requesting your help to pay for food and lodging for twenty players and Coach. The government of Jalisco is providing free transportation. The team will leave on this Friday and play Saturday at 10AM- only one game for the team to show their stuff! If you can help with the expenses for the team we thank you very much. Please hurry to Taqueria 3 Hermanas at the corner of Concha Molida to see Coach Agape. So far we have $2500 pesos from two kind donors, ojala! And the game is only five days away. He will be billeting the team 4 to a room and not wasting a peso of what they receive. This is a big opportunity for the team to play on a bigger stage and I hope they can raise enough to make the trip.

First they got on the bus for Guadalajara.Then after arriving only to find the the playoffs had been moved to Puerta Vallarta! So after a long bus ride from Guadalajara to PV they played two games, winning both for the South Coast area championship! More details to follow. Hooray La Manzanilla!!
