Symbicort inhalers Posted by Faith S on October 2, 2023, 9:52 am I recently was prescribed Symbicort inhalers for a breathing problem. Does anyone have any experience with this medication and obtaining it in Mexico? Is it available OTC, would my US prescription be good in Mexico or would I have to see a Mexican doctor for a new prescription? Any info would be appreciated. I can get a 3 month supply in the US before I arrive, but plan on being there 180 days. Thanks again.

No prescription required. Can't remember the name of the brand off hand.

I have it on automatic refill and delivery at my US pharmacy which is sent to my son where it accumulates for me to bring to Mexico. Initially, I had to buy enough because insurance would not cover it. It was very expensive. You can get Spiriva over the counter in Mexico.

This is a small pharmacy, so I imagine that the bigger ones like Arias in Melaque or Farmacia de Guadalajara in Cihuatlan or Manzanillo can get them too.

I couldn't get my exact dosage or strength, so cost wise would be about same as at home. I bring enough inhalers to get me through the season. But all the Farmacias offered to order what is available for me.
