Beach Cam Posted by Daniel H on October 10, 2023, 10:07 am Edited by board administrator October 10, 2023, 11:19 am I am leaving the beach cam running on an old computer. I took down the Starlink antenna because I lost the antenna on the late June Hurricane (they gave me another one free) so the feed will be in segments due to the upload limits on DSL. If the power goes out I won't be here to do a battery back up. I also won't be here to adjust the contrast, it is set to auto and should be about right around sunset. I moved the cam view a little lower so you can see the wave action as it takes out my pitiful tide guard. Not to mention 1/2 of my beach view is the side of a boat instead of one of the nicest beaches in the world. Real neighborly of them /s

While it does suck being on the beach during a storm at least I know what is going on. Being up here I am wondering the status of the office. Its almost enough to make me tune into LM life on facebook, but not quite. Still no power this end of town but I see lights down below.

Eventually moved from beach view side to street side became to unsettling with spray hitting the sliding glass doors three stories above the non-existing beach. ps: I really like the ocean

At the end of the blue cable. Edit: We dug out the end of the blue cable, there was no web cam there! So its under the sand or someone borrowed it.

I could hear it at my house and saw the videos with water coming through the passageways! River is flowing but very low with all the hungry egrets hunting! Sorry about the webcam! How’s your office?

Back in the first days of the web cam I used to take it off the beach every night, over time that changed. My choice was well placed until last night when the cam was at shoulder level (due to the height of the sand) and mentioned online that it was offline. Probably just some people walking the beach to see what homes / businesses have become vulnerable due to the storm. Onward

But it wasn't stolen, faith in humanity partially restored. Must have been one hell of a wave to dislodge it from its cradle.

Beach Cam found a new casa Posted by Daniel H on October 17, 2023, 6:46 pm, in reply to "Beach Cam" I found a spotlight that plugs into a cigarette lighter outlet, I have never used it so I put the cam in it. Seems happy there, dry at least. I have to switch from Starlink to DSL when it rains hard, like it is doing now, so the Internet feed gets choppy.
