After too many delays and miscommunications here is an update on Telin! Alaska Joe just got back from the hospital, Euchari in Manzanillo, and gave me all the details to pass on!
Due to all the delays and miscommunications over the past few days, Telin’s infection became worse due to a wire puncture in his remaining foot! So much so that a specialist was called in to do surgery this evening! He has been given IV antibiotics to quell the infection and hopefully be able to save the foot!
His sister is with him but it is not known for how long he will need to be there! The initial cost to admit him was 20,000 pesos which Joe paid…and will only increase with additional services rendered! Otra Vez will repay him when the costs are known in full!
And that’s where those of you who are friends of Telin’s can help! If you have needed his servicing for your bikes you know how little income he generates! If possible please come by and donate any amount to offset his expenses and help repay the OV coffers for the next person or persons needing help! Please!
And Barb, thanks so very much for keeping me updated every step of the way! I love Telin and he is an important part of the community! And now he needs us!
Teline... I invited to an opening many years ago! he arrived with his false leg ...and entered to gallery proud .. mr. T is an original and a real honest human....muchas gratias estaphania and alaska joe....bravo
Just got word that Agustin has a 50-50 chance of keeping his leg according to Drs at Euchari hospital in Manzanillo!
If you plan on making a donation on Monday at the bookstore and for some reason it is closed if I need to go to the hospital, the jar for him will be at Otra Vez!
Spent the half day with both Augustine, his sister and the head Dr. at Euchari and received the results from their tests this evening! They were unable to save the leg due to his circulation problem which would decrease his chances of healing! So this evening he was heading for surgery! I talked with them both and Telin’s attitude was quite positive and grateful for the care he has been given there and by the donations received, at times from perfect strangers! He wanted me to forward his thankfulness on to those who have given!
If you would like to donate, tomorrow the bookstore will be open and we have a container just for him!!!
Thank you in advance and now everyone here in LM must know when you donate or purchase something at the thrift store it goes for possibly saving a life! Mil gracias!
