Red River Showdown, Part II?

There are 12 teams from Oklahoma already signed up for the North Texas Turkey Trot Shootout being held November 17-18 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield, Texas.

There will be Oklahoma vs. Texas All-Star Games on Friday night at BLD, as we have done in the past.

In addition to the Oklahoma teams, there are teams from Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, West Texas and South Texas. Over half of the current entries are from outside North Texas which should make for an exciting weekend of softball against different competition.

All game will be played on the fabulous Turf Fields at Big League Dreams. No games will be played at auxiliary complexes with dirt infields which helps protect against the aggravating rain issues that have happened recently. Because of keeping all games at BLD and the tournament being a 3GG, the maximum number of teams that can be accepted is 90. The current team list is at 85, so only 5 openings remain.

Divisions offered are Mens B, Mens C, Mens D, Mens E, Mens 40+, Womens and Mixed.

First Place teams in each division will get a set of Lone Star Full Sub Dye Jerseys from Premier Athletics with a retail value of $350.

Individual T-Shirts will also be awarded to members of the Top 4 teams in each division. While members of the First Place teams get the Jerseys, members of the Second Place teams will receive Individual Lone Star Softball Caps. The MVP will receive a 2018 Bat and the Gold Glove Winner will receive a new glove. All-Tournament Awards will also be presented.

Entry fee is only $285 with loser pays. The deadline to enter is Tuesday, November 13, at 5:00 p.m. or whenever the maximum number of teams is reached.
