It is definitely a transition period for the community. Some of my friends are panic-selling while others are buying up everything they can find. I personally think the Source 2 engine offers a lot of potential for future designs that weren't possible before. It will be interesting to see how the developers handle the community's feedback over the next few months as things settle down.
