Yeah, that shift made a huge difference for us. A couple of years ago we were constantly redesigning things because everyone on the team had different opinions about what “looked better,” but conversions barely changed. Once we started actually tracking user behavior and measuring where people dropped off, the discussions became way less subjective. We found out users weren’t struggling with the design itself — they were confused about the first action they needed to take after signup. After simplifying that part, activation rates improved pretty quickly. What surprised me most was how small changes based on real data outperformed big visual redesigns almost every time.
