I don't know what was in the water at the complex this past weekend, but I’ve never seen so many weird, uncharacteristic plays in my life. Base runners missing bags, routine pop-flies getting dropped out of nowhere, and two different people on our team managed to completely snap their composite bats on clean pitches.
When I was complaining about it, our shortstop joked that we are currently in a Mercury retrograde cycle. Out of curiosity, I checked a quick cosmic survival guide over on Astroma that tracks these things, and apparently, it’s supposed to absolutely wreck communication, travel, and timing right now.
I’m generally a complete skeptic with this stuff, but the timing for our squad was uncanny. Are any of your teams experiencing absolute chaotic bad luck or weird mental errors on the field this week, or do we just need to hit the batting cages hard tonight?
