2016 North Texas USSSA New 2016 Rule Changes
Courtesy Runner
Only one courtesy runner per inning may be used. The courtesy runner will be the last recorded out. If it is the first inning of the game, no courtesy runner may be used until an out is recorded. If the courtesy runner is still on base when his/her turn at bat comes up, the original baserunner can take the place on base with no penalty. For Mixed games, only the last male out can run for a male and only the last female out can run for a female.
NOTE: This is NOT the way this rule was used last year, but this is the way the rules was passed at the USSSA National Convention and is the way it will be enforced in 2016.
Inning Ending Out - Men's D Program
In the men's D program (other than Open National Invitational Tournaments), any untouched home run thatexceeds the limit will be an inning ending out.
Offensive Ejection - Men's D Program
Each subsequent time that the position in the lineup is due to bat, the batter shall automatically be declared out. The player shall remain in the game for defensive purposes only. This applies to any substitutes for that position in the batting order.
New 2016 By-Law Changes
Mixed D and E Roster - Player Makeup
Mixed D teams shall only be allowed to have male players from current men's D & E rosters and female players only from women's C/D/E in that current season.
Mixed E teams shall only be allowed to have male players from current men's E rosters and female players only from women's D and E rostersin that current season.
ANY exception must be approved by the Executive Director or his designee.
2016 Changes to Roster Additions
No player can be added to team's roster if that player does not exist in the database. In other words, a manager cannot add a player to his roster who doesn't have any prior USSSA history in the system. The only way to add a player like this is to contact your State Director.
2016 Men's E Programs - 3 Bumps
Effective in 2016, a men's E team is able to have a total of three (3) men's D bumps on its roster.
By January 1st, we will have a complete list of NTX Rules, including protests, middle rule, bat flips, etc. that will be posted on the North Texas USSSA website (www.ntxusssa.org)
