Why we are using two parks Archived Message

Due to the extremely high number of teams in this tournament, some of the Men's E games are being played at Northrup Park in Boerne. It is about a 30-minute drive from Alva Jo Fischer Park.

We "thought" we had Kennedy Park secured as a second complex, but were informed at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday that we did not. We were very fortunate that Boerne was available this late in the process.

Northrup Park is a very nice facility that has hosted many USSSA tournaments over the years.

    B9, B10, B11 are at:
    Northrup Park
    37550 Interstate 10 Frontage Road
    Boerne, TX 78006

    AJ1, AJ2, AJ3, AJ4 are at:
    Alva Jo Fischer Complex
    10700 Nacogdoches Road
    San Antonio, TX 78217

When we had Time Warner Park, there were 6 fields and we could play all night if we wanted to as most of you remember.

But Alva Jo Fischer Park only has 4 fields and the City of San Antonio has an 11 p.m. curfew at all their parks, so the latest game we can play is a 10 p.m. start time.

    >>> SAN ANTONIO IS A "GREAT" SOFTBALL COMMUNITY, AND LONE STAR SOFTBALL IS 100% COMMITTED TO STAYING <<<

These multi-park tournaments are going to be a necessity, as long as we continue to get great participation from you teams. We will continue to explore options to make these tournaments as convenient as possible for you.

Thank You in advance for your understanding.
