Way to step up and represent at the B.J. Fulk Shootout this past weekend at Big League Dreams in M ansfield
Conference USSSA Class A team Nightmare/Miken from Branson, Missouri (who is ranked #20 in the entire nation by DW of The Old Scout) was in the bracket.
After beating a solid L3S/DnD team, Pete Puente's Jokers BEAT Nightmare in Nightmare's first game, 24-22. The Jokers were bolstered by the return of Cory Waldrep who pitched for Nightmare last year.
Jokers went all the way to the championship undefeated, where they lost two very close games to Nightmare, 29-27 and 23-20.
After losing to the Jokers, Nightmare dropped to the loser's bracket and almost went 0-2 before pulling out a narrow 22-18 win over the Player Haters (who were a D team 2015). Player Haters went on to win 2 more games and tie for 5th place in the salty bracket.
In the 3rd Place Game, Nightmare won a narrow 12-10 decision over DB Elite from Odessa, who was also a D team in 2015. DB Elite took home 3rd Place.
Hittin Bottom from Longview, yet another D team from 2015, finished in 4th Place. DB won their first two games, before losing to the Jokers 22-21 in the King Seat game, then getting eliminated in the narrow loss to Nightmare.
Tim Hughes' Franchise club tied with the Player Haters for 5th place, with two impressive wins over Farm Club and HVAC/Carrier.
L3S, Carrier, Farm Club, Brian's Custom Detailing, Klutch and Powerhouse are all proven winners over the years. It's going to be a fun year watching these North (and West and East) Texas teams battle it out.
