I have a question about a post I was reading from a few days ago and want to know what majority think. if you have been playing ball any length of time you know every time you go to the park year after year you see the same players right? why does it really matter if it is D or C because no matter what class the tourney you see the same people. most C players play D ball as well and dont complain. the ones who complain are the scrubs who chased balls and bought beer for the good D temas and got pumped and never see the field. WE ALL KNOW IF YOU ARE A GOOD C PLAYER YOU WILL BE PICKED UP RIGHT AWAY TO PLAY END OF STORY EVEN IF ON D TEAM. have yall C players who want to travel sponsored every week ever thought the majority of softball players have familys and just play to have fun with friends and enjoy the weekend in town???? probably not to busy hitting a thousand balls a week getting on the juice so they can travel every week and hit home runs in front of who your buddies???? get a life man softball is a game

some of us really enjoy playing against the best. From your post we can all agree that you are the rec ball hero ruining softball today. are you saying you have never hit bp before? i doubt that very seriously. If you really were old school, then you would be in the mindset that only the best get a trophy, not everyone gets a hug for trying. playing down your whole life to play and have fun with friends is your decision.... so there is no problem with that but dont come on the board and bash people for wanting to compete against better competition than the likes of you.
PS i am willing to be that most C players are just guys waiting for a chance to play conference. dont knock their hustle because they want bigger and better things than a picnic at the ballpark with their friends

Usually I don't read this board much anymore, because I'm tired of the constant whining, b###hing and personal attacks...but I have to respond to this because you sir are clearly a complete clown who has never played above D.
I have 7 guys over the age of 40 on Vivid, because the young talent hasn't matured or had the competition to get better...even worse millennials feel that they are somehow entitled to everything ... I have a few guys in there 20's ... some ready, some almost there...but for the most part BECAUSE of a complete lack of competition to play against and hone their skills most of the "upper" C players in both NTX and STX have not been able to progress to that next level needed to play Conference.
To get there you have to work HARD at it. I don't mean you take BP one day a week either. You hit as many times a day as you can (I personally go 3-4 times a week), you work out at the gym, even if it's just cardio to make sure you can last for the duration (because we don't play 50 minute games and we often play on bigger fields and the bases in some events are as far as 80 feet apart). You have work on your fielding, and not by playing League for or 5 nights a week... you need to actually practice at it.
We hit the Thunder ZN or on the bigger fields the Stadium. So you better be able to play deep, field a rocket and throw them out.
We get 12 HR. How many of your local C teams are going to hit 12 HR AFTER having there bats tested...oh and did I mention that in the Conference this year they cut bats open if they fail? A shaved bat results in suspension immediately. So you BETTER be able to play up and play legal. Which means work on your game.
Softball is a game...but some guys, guys like Chris Larsen, Matt Fox, Greg Connell, Bubba Mack, Luis Reyna, BJ Fulk, Brett Helmer, Travis Clark and many others make a living at it. Many of them started in D or E ...difference is they didn't complain about it, they got better.
If you want to stay in E or D fine. No one's asking you to play up. It's a choice. Just like the old saying goes, "it is better to remain silent and be thought an idiot than open your mouth and prove it". Congratulations you proved it.
