IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING "BATTLE FOR THE RINGS" THIS WEEKEND
Posted by Lone Star Softball on July 12, 2016, 8:52 am
The Lone Star Shootout "Battle For The Rings" is set for this weekend, July 16-17, for the Men's C, Men's D and Mixed Divisions.
Here are a few things all Managers & Players should know.
- All-Star Games will be played on Friday night. Men's D at 7:30 p.m. and Men's C at 9:00 p.m.
- IMPORTANT: Make sure all the players you are bringing are properly listed on your Online roster by Wednesday at 5:00, which is when they will be printed out. (NOTE: No write-ins will be allowed at the park on Saturday unless we can get in touch with your State Director and get his approval. Don't risk him not being available, put all players on there today!)
- As always, players will be required to check-in and present a valid ID (USSSA Policy) and sign your roster. Make plans to arrive at the park in plenty of time to handle this prior to your first game. We suggest arriving at least 1 hour prior to game time.
- Players may handle their check-in process on Friday night during the All-Star festivities to get it out of the way before the "rush" on Saturday. There will be a tent set up with multiple Lone Star Staffers on hand to assist you in a timely manner.
-Finally, the policy regarding CONFERENCE USSSA PLAYERS is that they will not be allowed to pick up in this tournament, not even 1 per team. Lone Star Softball has generously allowed all these tremendous players to pick up with teams all year. But this tournament is too important and it is not fair to the "true" C teams who do not have access to these players.
What defines a "Conference" player? We will use the same policy that the Conference uses: anyone who has played in more than 1 Conference tournament this year. So, for example, who got picked up for a "try-out" at Space City or Texas Legends but didn't stick with the team will be OK. But a player who been on a team all year and shows up claiming "but I don't play with them any more" will not work.
Good Luck to everyone this weekend.
May the best teams win!
