>>> TEAM COMPETITION <<<<
The Home Run Derby will include a Team Competition that will run concurrently with the individual contest. (It is not a separate event.)
Derby “Teams” consist of 4 players from the same softball team entered in the tournament. No ringers not on your roster are allowed to come in help your team win. Teams must be entered for this weekend and hitters must be on that team’s online roster.
The combined score of the 4 hitters on each team will add up to be that team’s total score. (NOTE: Only the first score for each hitter will count towards the Team Total … “buy-back” scores will not count toward the Team Total.)

Re: BATSTOCK HOME RUN DERBY // FRIDAY NIGHT // BLD-MANSFIELD
In fact, anyone who might still be shaving bats these days is insane, especially in Lone Star events.
#1, The bats today are hot enough right out of the wrapper, you don't need to tamper.
#2, Once you tamper with a bat, your void the warranty and will no longer get a return if/when it breaks.
#3, and perhaps most importantly, the ball we use is the Worth Hot Dot 52/275 (some call it Hy-Cor). That is a higher compression, lower core ball that some refer to as "bouncy." The whole point of shaving is to get thinner wall for a trampoline effect. But when a thin wall connects with a softer ball, those two forces are working against each other.
Using a shaved bat with this ball, you are hurting your performance not help it.
Regardless, all bats will be supplied this weekend at Batstock, so you can leave your laser sticks at home. Hopefully you can find a brand/model/weight that suits you.
