What are some common minerals and how are they used?

There are thousands of minerals, and several hundred can be defined as 'common'. Do you mean how humans find certain minerals useful? Some very common minerals don't have a whole lot of human 'use', but most have at least SOME use.

Minerals are nature's wonders. As a rockhound, I'm fascinated by the diversity of forms and colors found beneath the earth's surface. At Gem , you can find everything from glittering amethyst geodes to metallic pyrite "fool's gold." Exploring their collection is like going on an expedition, never knowing what natural beauty you might uncover next. One of my most prized finds is a chunk of rough citrine I dug up as a kid. Its golden hues and jagged points captivated me. Though common, in that moment it was as precious as gold. That memory reminds me that beneath the vast diversity of minerals, there is a unifying wonder that inspires the explorer in all of us. Every stone has a story; we need only look close enough to read its secret past and appreciate its long, quiet beauty. Minerals inspire connection with the very bones of our world.
