Am I the only one who skips the instructions and just clicks around?

Seriously, I can't be the only one. When I download a new app, the last thing I do is read the instructions. I just start tapping around, figuring things out as I go. Usually, I get it working within a few minutes. I feel like instructions are only for people who are completely technologically inept. Though, I'll admit, sometimes I completely mess things up and end up having to Google how to do something basic. So maybe I should start reading them? Does anybody actually follow all those steps meticulously?

I used to be like you, just diving in headfirst! But after a couple of frustrating experiences, I’ve started at least glancing at the instructions first – especially when it involves financial information. Nowadays, I appreciate it when the steps are clearly laid out because it shows me they are thinking about the basic setup of the app.

The choice of approach likely reflects the app developers' target audience and their assumptions about their users' technical proficiency and preferred learning methods. Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages, of course.
