Fished on Honeoye friday and located some very good fish in 12 feet of water. Moved to different locations and the bass were quite active. Some areas of the lake are starting to clear up from the algae bloom and the bass were aggressive.
Up early saturday morning and the wind was blowing quite hard giving us 1 1/2 foot waves. As the sun came over the eastern hills the wind picked up and the lake started to roll. Clients arrived on time and we headed south where the water was more fishable. High bluebird skies had the fish in a negative mood, mixed with the wind and rough water it was hard to feel the bite. By the end of the half day trip we had managed to boat at least 2 dozen bass under some of the hardest conditions this year. They did a great job and all fish were caught on artifical baits, which was a new way for them to fish.
Wear your life vest and be careful. Good fishing.
