Honeoye Lake
We have spent several days and evenings on Honeoye recently and the fishing has been very good. Bass along with an occasional pickerel have been receptive to many different baits. The challenge right now is to keep changing baits until you find the right color or style that triggers them to bite. Zoom salty centipedes, baby brush hogs or trick worms have worked best, but just when you have them zeroed in, they hit a Bass Pro Stiko or tube. Colors range from watermelonseed, greenpumpkin, watermelon/red to greenpumpkin/purple.
Conesus Lake
The Tuesday night tournaments on Conesus have started for the 2012 season and the 3 fish limit weights have been very good. The 6/19 tournament was won with 12.54 and the 6/26 was won with12.98. That translates to a 4+ pound average and the anglers are only fishing for three (3hrs.) hours. Use caution when fishing in low light conditions and be sure to use your lights. The sheriff does an excellent job of patrolling Conesus Lake.
Canandaigua Lake
We have not been on Canandaigua yet due to time constraints and other priority repairs. The ramp is open at the north end of the lake and a recent tournament took 18 lbs. 12ozs. to secure the win.
Be safe, wear your life vest, drive at a speed for the conditions and maintain a proper lookout.
