Fishing has been good for us on all the Finger Lakes this year. Our first few trips to Keuka Lake were very successful. Past seasons on this lake have yielded smaller 3-4 lb fish, but this year we have boated several in the 7-8 lb range. Fishing has been great along the entire southwest shoreline. Our bigger fish have been taken using copper lines fished off planer boards in the upper portion of the water column.
Cayuga Lake has been good. The Sheldrake and Long Point areas have been producing lots of 14-17 inch landlocked salmon and lots of 4-8 lb lakers. Downriggers fished from 90-150' have been the key. Spoons produce one day and flasher/fly combos the next. We have been running a good spread of both.
Seneca Lake has been great to us this year. Lots of fish of all types are being taken. No area of the lake has been bad for us. North or South, the fishing has been steady for lakers. Running the standard setup of downriggers, dipsy divers with flasher/fly combos, and lead core and copper rigs fished off planer boards have been providing steady action. Try white flies, green and silver, or orange and silver spoons to start. Good luck out there.
