If you fish tournaments and want a challenge, try the Tuesday night tournaments on Conesus. If you don’t fish tournaments, but are a fisherman and like to hear about good fishing, check the Tuesday evening results at http://bwnybasscomforums.runboard.com.
Click on Tournaments and Clubs, then click on conesus tues. night results. Fishing starts at 6 P.M. and ends at 9 P.M., three intense hours to catch three big fish. Winning weights for the first six weeks have ranged from just under 11 lbs. to just under 14 lbs.
On Tuesday the 23rd, bass were quite active, and we managed about a dozen nice fish in the 2 1/2 to 3 lb. weight category. A lost fish in the 5 lb. weight class put our finish down to tenth place. The skies clouded up and threatened rain, but conditions stayed comfortable, and the bass bite was excellent. Big fish for our boat was a huge Northern Pike in the 10+ pound category; nice fish, wrong specie.
Wednesday morning was a 180 degree turn around from the previous evening. Wind and waves from the north made conditions cold and hard to fish. We fished several areas with mixed results, but I was able to teach a few new methods for fishing plastic baits to area residents. It was not a bragging day, but they managed to catch a few bass and also missed a few that bit.
Good fishing wear your life vest,
