Fished Cayuga Lake Today. We boated nearly twenty fish including several nice lakers, landlocks, bows and one beautiful male brown trout. Fished from Boy Scout Camp north to Sheldrake Point. Lots of lakers around the camp. Bows and landlocks came around Sheldrake. Lakers were suspended in 75-130' of water. My wire line Dipsy divers with white flasher/fly combos out 220' did the trick on the lakers and many of the landlocks. Brown came in on rigger out 60' with a Sutton 44. Bows and landlocks also were caught with copper wire rods out 300' with rainbow colored spoons and small Rapalas. They guys did a truely amazing job on the rods. We lost maybe three fish on the way to boat due to bad hookups. At one point we ran ten rods and the crew did a great job handling fish with no crossed lines or lost fish at the net. If these guys were local I would consider them for my tournament team! I had a great time guys.
Weather depending, I hope to keep fishing the open water for the next couple of weeks. With archery season and the great lakes tributary fishing in full swing MANY sportsman are missing out on some of the best fishing of the year on the Finger Lakes. If your looking for a late fall fishing charter on the Finger Lakes give me a call.
