Honeoye Lake Report and Conditions

We traveled back to New York two weeks ago and it has been pretty cold since our arrival. We put the docks in last Thursday and the water was the coldest that we have ever encountered while setting up for the summer season. |
Our son had a birthday on the 4th and came to the cottage for dinner and some fishing on Saturday May 7th. We launched at the NYS park and worked our way north. The water was 54.5 and in sheltered areas you might find 57 degrees. Bass were biting but you had to work baits very slow. We broke Zoom trick worms in half for most of the fish and a half a dozen came on a small spinnerbait.
Be safe, wear your life jacket and maintain a proper lookout.
