Thought I'd post all the info.
Head east I40 all the way thru Amarillo,Take Lakeside ave.exit(big truckstop)Hang a right,go about 2 miles tracks on the left.
Races start @7..If you go in the stands, might wanna get there early..it'll be packed by 6:30
Admission is $15.00,and they'll be running cyclones,street stocks,sport mods& USMTS mods.
Figure 140/150 cars...should be done by 10:30(they don't screw around).
Food at the track is excellent..best place to grab grub,is@ the north end of the stands by the pits.Family run bar BQ,turkey legs are the bomb.
Fully stocked adult refreshment area...that has mikes hard lemonade(various flavors) and Twisted Tea...doesn't get much better that on a hot west texas night
If you go in the pits be warned, pits extend about 2 counties long, and EVERYONE has a pit vehicle.Unless you want to walk a marathon, strolling around.
People you SHOULD root for...
The # 76 cyclone(car# matches age)
The 00 sport mod,Kelly Cross..guys a legend out there, runs a stock motor, track will be dead heavy in the heats so he gets outrun.Come feature time dry slick Kelly starts about 20th and puts on a clinic getting to the front.
The #31 A mod,Neal Debord,guys 70 years young,and still fast.
Good idea to root outloud for Rocket Rodney Sanders...local kid gone bigtime, runs fulltime USMTS,he's somehow related to virtually everyone in the stands..
National points race...so you'll see Hughes,Shryock,Gustin,Johnny& Stormy Scott,Sanders,Most likely the Gallardo's& Jimmy Ray.Anywhere from 40/50 mods.
Last year Stormy spent 40 laps throwing haymakers@Jason Hughes, finished 1/2 car length back...whole show was awesome.
Last weeks top 5 A mods...
Danny Davis Hughes
Monte Bolton Edge
Neal Debord Billsbuilt
Jeramy Gossett Hughes
Dee Gossett Hughes
The locals will give the USMTS guys ALL they can handle...
