5 to go,Johnny Scott almost full straightaway lead over his brother...
Stormy goes from the bottom to rim rider.
Reels him in,wins by inches...classic.
The Las Cruces guys defended their home turf impressively.
They never lost a feature...in El Paso or Cruces.
Against that caliber of competition,that's amazing.
Fito& Jacob Gallardo taking turns in the Valdez X mod both winning features...stupid fast Carneybuilt cars losing 2 in a row...(see above).
Speaking of the Carney's...
Those guys are class acts...they race hard&clean.
It would take up a TON of bandwidth explaining all of the trick elements to their homebuilt X mods.
Ristrictor plates...
First time I've run against the neutered southern cars.
Used to take 1/2 laps for them to check out into another area code...
Now it takes 7/8...
Those plates neutralized the big bore Rochester carbs& Vortec marine/Brezinski acid dipped intake manifolds.
Mission accomplished.
...gonna really tighten up the X mod fields here.

I'd of been sitting in the stands Saturday if not for them.
79 yr. old "kid" won his X mod heat Saturday.
Last season @ a young 78 he won features in an X mod,late model,super truck.
...Nobody enjoys racing more than Sherman Barnett.
Hope he continues to do what he loves.He had Bonesteel& I in stitches all weekend...good guy.
The fall nationals will revert back to non USMTS point show.

That's crazy money...I hope they pull a ton of cars.
