This weekend Uranium Capitol Speedway is THE place to be! With a week off, drivers from all over the state of New Mexico are surrounding areas are more than excited to return to one of the fastest clay ovals in the region! The X-Mods will be running their second points race of the season and car counts are on the rise thanks to a very nice points fund on the line at the end of the year! Albuqeurque, NM driver Mychal Lucero took an early lead in the UCS Barnett Championship Points Standings for the X-Mods by coming home with a clean sweep two weeks ago but there is a large contengent of drivers lined up to take the top podium spot Saturday night! The X-Mods will be running for an increased purse this weekend as well! While the purse was set at $300 to win garaunteed, two anonymous donations have been added to the purse to make it $400 to win!.. Yep thats right, $400 to win the X-Mods this weekend GARAUNTEED!!!!! Defending Champion Shorty Rodriguez will look to take back the points lead this weekend against local favorites Kemery Ward, Bry Bunney, LJ Perea and others, while fending off a slew of drivers from the Duke City area including current points leader Mychal Lucero, Kevin McDonald, Skimmer Leathem, Hayden Foy, Tanner Higdon, Gary Guinn, and so many more!

All the talk since week one has been surrounded by the amazingly smooth and consistant track surface. Many drivers were heard calling it the best track they have seen anywhere! While that is a large order to fill, they sure did make a strong case, with very few yellow flags and tons of side by side 3-wide racing! With weather expecting to be near perfect all weekend, one can expect to see a packed pit area and a full grandstands this weekend for what is turning out to be an amazing racing weekend.

Fans will also be treated to side by side racing action from the Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Hornets to cap off a full slate of racing Saturday night. The go-karts will once again have a special start time of 6pm.

Uranium Capitol Speedway is located just one hour west of Albuquerque, NM, Exit 79 off Interstate 40.

Gates Open at 4pm, Pit Meeting is at 6:30pm
