The night was not without controversy as the Barnett race team loaded up their 3 cars and went home after the drivers meeting. The source of their displeasure stemmed from the decision to allow Rosales & Dickie Gorham back into there original starting positions after being dq'ed the previous night for carburetor infractions.
Both cars were equipped with aftermarket metering blocks on their Holley carbs. The decision to reinstate was based on the fact that they had run the metering blocks all year and were deemed legal throughout the season.
Royal told me today...that next season no aftermarket metering blocks will be allowed...so that should put that deal to rest.
Heard the track was lightning fast/hammer down.
Stands were full.
Gonna be interesting, with all of the drama/issues involved if this deal happens again next year...
