This Saturday the X mods,305 winged sprints, street stocks & mini sprints go at it.
Mother nature supposed to cooperate w/only 10/20% chance of moisture.
Grounds pretty saturated...so I'm thinking gonna be a velcro like, hammer down kind of night. If Fegan will let us roll in the bottom, could be crazy fast 2/3 wide racing.
X mods haven't run here in a month & some of us went racing & worked on set ups...others re~loaded.
Random highlights,
There's a great point battle going on between the top 4 cars...championship hangs in the balance every race.
We have a nice little fued that's developed. (Hope it stays nice).
Should have biggest field of the year so far, maybe 20+.
Honestly, there's 7/8 cars capable of winning.
As an added bonus...
If you believe everything you read on 'fake book' (unfortunately most do), we're all gonna get our arse's handed to us (ie; lapped)
...I don't see it happening, but should be worth the price of admission just to see...if.
Lastly,
When I ran Cruces couple weeks ago, I visited w/the tech guy down there.
They have a couple of very cool/beneficial tech tools that help level the playing field & keep people from getting too creative w/the rules.
One is a Carb checker that measures diameters in a 4412 Holley.Tells you in about 30 seconds if the carbs been tampered with in any way, shape or form.
The other is a b###hin' scan tool dealio that reads if an MSD box has been bypassed/tampered with.
These Tech Devices Are A LARGE Part Of THE Reason THAT 20 X mods started the feature that night & nobody got lapped after 20+laps of green flag racing. We had 3/4 wide racing throughout the pack, that was a blast.
...Royal said we could borrow the tracks spares That'll definitely help maintain the integrity of a great class.
Might even get em in time for the weekend, that be cool...we'll see.
Anyway, I think it's gonna be a great weekend to get back in the saddle and dig spur.
Can't wait..
