Heat race winners were: Samuel Sansoni and Skyler Heath in the stock cars. Chad Tenski and Darrell Cordary in the Limited Modifieds. Rex Higgins in the B-Modifieds. Zane Devilbiss in the A-Modifieds. Chris Lewis in the hobbys and Brittany Yates in the sport compacts.
The features for each class ran like this......The stock cars provided some real racing excitement with some bent sheet metal and some great side by side racing. Skyler Heath pulled out the win in the final few laps after being involved in a three car crash that left him with some heavy sheet metal damage but a driveable car. He restarted in the back and was on the move when another event put him in the infield and on top of a large tractor tire. Once again, he restarted in the back. The he raced back to the front. Still, it wasn't easy as Ron Brewer was very strong up front along with Travis Southerlin and Jaime Torres of Las Cruces. The Tennessee Volunteer ‪#‎12h‬ did prevail for the win with Torres a strong 2nd and Ron Brewer 3rd. Brewer ran the last two laps with a flat tire. In fourth was Jeramey Bradley and Samuel Sansoni was fifth. Southerlin, Alan Bradley and Larry Bradley rounded out the finish. Another very competitive feature was the Limited Modifieds. Bub Hughes drove his #0 cookied monster like the Keebler elves were after him. Hughes, Eddleman and Tenski put on a show for about 10 laps as the first two traded the lead about 4 times. This all took place after they managed to get past the early leader Darrell Cordary. Hughes drove a great race and took down the win with Eddleman a close 2nd. Eddleman was having some handling problems and actually did great to remain in 2nd. Third was Chad Tenski with Darrell Cordary fourth and Alan Palmer fifth. Jay Hank, Sergio Luengas and Mark Merrion rounded out the field. Merrion did not finish as he blasted the backstretch wall..he was ok...the car not so good.
A short A-Modified field saw the two Las Cruces drivers, father and son, Fito and Jacob Gallardo dominate the race. Fito won with Jacob right behind him. In third was Zane Devilbiss followed by Jason Keeler and Julie Keeler.
The B Modified also had a scarce field of cars with Rex Higgins winning handily. Randy Dorsett was 2nd with Andy Hockenhull next and fourth went to Robert Cody.
The hobby feature was taken down by Bill Dutton for his 2nd win of the year. RaNai Toler followed him for 2nd and Chris Lewis was 3rd. In fourth was Michael Cody and fifth went to Trent Najera.
The sport compact feature was won by Brittany Yates with Donnie Stock next and Jay Hicks 3rd.
