On a warm but windy Friday night at Sandia Speedway's Paved Oval, the lightning fast carts put on a great show with Ayrton Cahan winning in the youth division and Steven Pruitt in the adults.

The battle for the points lead in the A-Mod division heated up.

When Cameron Morga won the heat race with Ashley Gantt second, the two drivers moved onto a tie at 211 points each. The feature offered 100 points to the winner which Cameron Morga collected with a win in that race as well. Ashley garnered 95 points for second leaving the Championship battle at 311 to 306. Gerald Haste is third with 290 points.

Congratulations to Cameron on the win. I understand Cameron is only 15 years old. When I was 15 the only thing I could do was fall off my bicycle. Cameron is commanding super fast, high powered Modified Race cars…. and winning.

The next Paved Oval show will be Friday June 3rd and you can bet these three drivers will be looking to break away from the others in the points race for the Championship.
