First off...THANK YOU. To everyone that contributed...(add Dale Snelling for additional,B main money. To Richard Johnson for basically being Richard&helping w/everything. To Jennifer Bertetto for figuring out the A main lineup(advanced trigonometry woulda been easier). To all the X mod racers who supported this deal. Couple things... The place filled up,even after a torrential rainstorm, when's the last time THAT happened. People were lined up 3/4 deep all along backstraight fence to watch the X feature...Crazy. Lot of people upset about the Gorham's on track racing ettiquette...Not condoning it,BUT, that's how they race down south...they run hard&take no prisoners...it showed all night. Greg came from the back...twice,he must of passed 30 cars total...gotta believe the fans loved it. A REALLY good young racer won...won't be the last time. Gary Guinn's dirt clod fastball looked a little high&inside,it was ruled a strike(wish we had replay). A 21 yr.old chassis(Harris) won the B,then ran 3rd in the A. ...dare anyone,to name another class in the country where that's possible. We had the rug pulled out from underneath us...regarding tech. A bunch of people volunteered,to make it happen, and then apperently someone didn't get the memo. ... about the only thing I can see, killing this class,(as long as nobody jacks w/the rules)NO TECH. Not sure I've ever seen somebody take cars out exiting 4,drive thru the infield, cut across the track&take out couple more entering turn 1. That was ugly. Overall,I thought it was a good show...and hopefully it promoted the X mod class in the process. Look forward to our next show...august 3. BTW,bounty STILL stands...it'll pay $503.00 to anyone who can beat J.R. heads up... Should be fun(again).
Mychal, you Kevin and JR did a great job in self promoting that deal ! I was glad to help out with what i could do, im glad it went pretty well and we had lots of cars and fans. This class is blowing up each week, more good things can and will happen for the x-mods. Thanks to Dale as well for pitching in at the drivers meeting for the b-main winner, that was cool to see ! See ya all soon......
21year old x-mod finished 3rd, 17 year old chassis, that is also a Harris, was leading it before Weber made that smooth clean pass on the outside. I really agree that chassis age is not a huge factor. But what's this high and inside ump? Great night for the class, I had a blast until someone didn't see or hear me on the outside of them... so is life; I'll get it back together and back out sooner than later! Too bad every night wasn't treated like a show as this one was...
Thanks Mychal. Gave me a laugh... And yes, 10th grade trigonometry was much easier than figuring your guys' lineup. Haven't had to score a B-Main in a very very long time! --We're talking Holywood Hills, and maybe not even then, I just can't remember. I thought that last Saturday night went very well considering all the curveballs (though I missed seeing the strike) that were thrown at the track. Thanks everyone for working hard out there! Looking forward to seeing the bounty continue. JR is a machine! It would be nice to top 31 cars for the August 3rd race.
