I agree Toy, next question do you want them to follow the written rule or the rule of three that some ID10t let fly. If you drive in the Street Stock Class at Napa and you run a steering quickner you’re cheating by the written rule, you are a cheater and shouldn't be allowed to compete! Same goes for shocks in non-stock location, cheating! X-mod Tech is a joke, so we should allow anyone to race in the class, any car, any engine, any weight, and any carburetor; no one is checking them anyway. Tech should be all inclusive from top to bottom the whole car should be looked at. The track should treat everyone as if they are cheating until tech proves that they are not.

I agree with you completely. The sad truth is the tech out there is a joke, infact when UCS had there big race a few weeks back, the head tech out there was told that we where all cheating and Charlie was going to fire his tech guy for not doing his job... The funny thing about that is, we already had 4 or 5 races in and my car had not even been safety checked, yet alone teched for legality. Now I know its a pipe dream to think that they would ever tear down a motor to check things like 6" rods in a 350, porting and polishing, stroker, pop-up pistons, ect..... but how hard is it to check for basic visually stuff like Quickners, trailing arms, 9" wheels, brake bias, clutches.. ect......... I guess its time to go outlaw in the steet stock class if S#!t don't change!!! ;0) LMAO

Toy you have not got checked? Last race was my 3rd time and my dads 2nd time he also went through the 53. i also been checked for things reguarding the rules . I would get to track early for them to check your car also

Mario I have been checked now. My statement was that I had already attended 4 to 5 races and had not been checked yet Charlie told UCS that we where all cheating. Just thought it was funny that our GM was talking about firing his tech guy for not doing his job yet calling us all illegal and yet not done anything about it. The bottom line is this, there are cars in our division that you know are breaking the rule. And all I am saying is that the track needs to step up and do something about it.

Toy, not teching any car for Safety is a disaster waiting to happen! As far as Engine, Weight, etc... Most track are SOO bogged down finding personel to take tickets, work concessions, Corner Flagman, etc... Finding good tech people must be really tough anymore!

Hey Joe, I agree with you too a point. Like you I have been around racing for years and have raced at several tracks. And have been teched at all of them. I am not asking for much. Lets see since Charlie hired his new tech guy, I have been through tech 5 times. The very first time we were told where to go and if we did not go to tech we would be DQed well that did not happen I know for a fact someone in my race missed tech but did not get DQed. To top it off when we went to tech the first couple of times I was told they weren't going to tech but just get drivers familiar with where tech was. LoL. The next time through tech I swear he was holding a ruler and Measured the tread width of my G60 tire on right front only. And sent me on my way. the next time through the car in front of me was hot so he sent us all away with out teching. The last time I went through he looked under my driver side front fender and sent me on. I am sorry but that is a joke and the sad part about it is there are cars that are cheating and it's obvious all they have to do is look. Infact there are several cars that are cheating and it take just a little effort to check it. But F¥€K it, if CHARLIE ARE THE NEW TECH GUY IS AFRAID TOO ARE JUST DONT CARE ENOUG to tech us and not going to DQ those caught cheating, then I might as well start cheating too. Well I wish I could be like that but if you know me then you would know I am not that way. So if things don't start happing in the tech and DQ-ing department UCS is looking a lot better. At least there tech-ing...

It could be worse. You could have your own competitors teching your car for the track. remember that? lol

I would actually welcome that maybe a drawing that chooses three cars From that Night of racing to be the tech committee for that division. Either the driver or. Someone from their crew would be the tech person along with the other two. And right before the main events they decide with the official tech person who could oversee it all What was going to be teched for that evening. At least we'd be getting teched which sounds good to me.

For years, other than safety the only time someone got teched for being Illegal was when they got protested!

actually Joe years ago when Sandia Motor sports park first statered out the did a decent job of teching and even DQ-ing i know because I got DQ-ed one time for going to pits first instead a tech. All I am saying is, if the don't want to inforce rules then why have them.
