Point Rumors

There has been a spread of rumors about Friday the 27th being a double point night and/or running double mains, THIS IS NOT TRUE. Next weeks show is the last regular race and regular point night. Last Saturdays rain out was just a lost race, no make up for classes not running their mains, everyone got their heat race points only. Hope this clears up any questions. RJ

What about the money for the divisions that didnt race their mains? Some of us travel over 200 miles in a weekend to race and if you're gonna reward people for points where's the money?

For the classes that didnt run a main event, they were not awarded points or money, only points they got were for heats. If you have questions about the track policies i would contact Charlie Fagan for further explainations.

Except for NMMRA, they have their act together and have a signed contract where if the race is cancelled with no make-up race they get 50% of the promised purse, the rest of need to form our own clubs...

Next year Richard, X-Mod's are going to band together you watch, class is too big and growing to fast and strong to keep running for what we are. Never been a fan of Unions, but everything has a time and a place. X-mods put on a good show, enough that the class could headline and actually will later this year at a few different tracks. We just need to all come together and say, this is what we want and sit down at the bargaining table. It really is that easy… NMMRA did it, so what's stopping us other than ourselves?

I was in diapers and you had just graduated high school, if I remember right it was an Oldsmobile hobby stock that you ran while I sat on Anna's lap.

Hell if it wasn't for you and my dad being friends I might never have wanted to race in the first place. Now like you, I want to make it better, not for one driver but for the whole class, like you and everyone else did for A-mods a few short years ago...

You just got find someone who can be a " team player " and everyone will stand behind, its hard to find people like that but it can be done. As you said, you got to do whats best for the group, not for one individual. Most important...work together and not against each other.

Do the X-mods get a Set purse, or just a % of the gate? How can you demand 50% of a purse if you don't know what your getting?

Joe, the NMMRA has an air tight deal. Napa has a contract with them and it states that as long as they ran their heat races and no make-up is scheduled then they get 50% of their guaranteed purse. The X-mod division does have a set pay out, however UCS is paying more to win on the 28th than the whole class purse at Napa Speedway, which is less than $900 for the class. Let me repeat that LESS than $900 for the whole class like 20+ cars.

The x- mods have a set purse. It was set with track management before the season started. % of gate is old school duke city stuff when the smiths had it. The sprints have their own deal that they set with all the tracks they run at. I dont know specifics on them.
