Las Cruces Greg Gorham captured the $550.00 bounty last night in Tularosa beating Billy Mcdaniel who had won several straight features. Gorham's expected to be in Grants next weekend for the shootout. ...should be good, really good.
Actually, the only crickets are in your "reserved" pit stall@ Napa every other saturday night... On august 26@7:47 p.m. on the Toy Fisher Banned thread I posted..."The reason Kevin& I put the Bonesteel bounty on hiatus,is due to NO TECH. Scroll down the page and you can read my post in it's entirety.
(Another reason the X mods should form thier own deal next season...TECH). Considering you didn't even run the bounty show@NAPA&are currently parked&pouting... You seem overtly eager to respond to all threads pertaining to bounty races.
Robby, the bounty helped the long term growth of the X-mods here in Albuquerque by proving three simple truths, 1: the X-mods can be a headliner division, 2: if properly utilized we could be running B-mains every weekend, and 3: that we are going to have to do it ourselves if anything is going to happen. We are a cash cow for the track, 20+ cars at $35 each plus pit help for $25 a head and we are racing for peanuts. We are what every track promoter wants, a big class that they can pay little to nothing for so they can make a profit on the class, simple economics and they don’t want it to change unless it will generate more money. X-mods should be running for twice the amount we currently do, even if that means the winner only gets $300 and last place in the main makes $50. That’s how you can grow a class for long term growth, but we had to prove to the track that we could do it with the bounty to gain ground for next year. So Robby you said it, “none of us is as good as all of us” now I understand that was a quote from someone else but you obviously meant something by it, so here is a quote for you and all the others that are on the fence about it… “Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” Warren Buffett. Now we are digging the hole to plant this tree, are you going to help dig it or are you going to show up later to enjoy the fruits of our labor?
One quick post script here, the current pay is not a reflection of the track or management of Napa Speedway all they did was agree, this purse was negotiated on our behalf by a loosely formed modified association that included the x-mod division in it. That club has all but disappeared. Again all the more reason for the x-mods to be their own entity, and negotiate there own purse. We need something for the x-mods ran by x-mod owner/drivers.
It also proved how tough it is to Win starting in the back! JR is a good driver and watching him weave through trafffic is what puts fans in the Seats! Starting points leaders in the Front Row doesn't!
First meeting location is TBA, as is the date. Who? That will be a collection of people who want to grow the class, simple agenda, get as many X-mod drivers as possible together and form a "club". After a "club" is formed to include electing a president or chair, then we discuss all the issues and solutions. We discuss what we all can agree is a fair club membership, a purse, a fair line up system, points system, championship fund, what have you. Other items will arise and could be discussed as needed. Robby if you have an opinion (which judging from the fact that you’re on this site, you do) you should be there, if possible, just to make sure that you have a say in what happens.
Not to mention... Now,with the spigot opened and the kool~aid starting to flow from our favorite transpanted imca zealot, who wants to turn X mods into imca northern sport mods (at a cost of $2000/5000 per car). It would be good to have everyone on the same page...
