Albuquerque may never again experience the glory days of old when it comes to dirt track racing. Why? Lack of consistency. A successful track needs to have good management, solid rules, unwavering officating (including teching), good, consistent payouts, and the ability to work with other tracks in the state to compliment one another in terms of rules and scheduling.
There are several barriers to this working, as I'm sure you've all gathered from experience here and in the community. I believe that for a track to succeed, the above mentioned points need to be observed, but also we need an owner that's willing to take a loss for the first couple of years. They would need to lose money to keep the payouts consistent, hire good staff, and work with the community of racers to rebuild a trust that hasn't fully existed within this area for a very long time. In this poor state, that's going to be a rough order. Good luck fellas.

We have a great group of people working very hard on this new track in Valencia County. There is no way to have a perfect operation but when a dedicated group works this hard it will always produce a better outcome. We have a long way to go before the first shovel hits the ground but until then. Thank You for the support.
