Exciting News for 2014 as Barnett Series invades UCS. Yeah that right! All Division will be eligible to Run the Barnett Series and have a championship points fund for there division. WOW! Anyone who has ran the Barnett Series knows this is an awesome deal for the racer and we would like thank Barnett Harley Davidson for there support and helping racing.
The board and volunteers have worked very hard getting the facility ready and are excited to kick off 2014 with a Bang! ‎
We wish everyone the best of success in 2014 ‎and thank all the fans and drivers for keeping racing alive and well in NM ‎ email: tbrewbaker@hotmail.com
When I talked to Sherman last month@in Cruces, he was pretty stoked about bringing back the Barnett series&helping UCS. This deal could be huge...if, everyone gets on board. Couple questions... There was talk of Grants finally getting insurance. Did that ever come to fruition? What's the payout for X mods? (Heard it's predicted on car count).
Mychal, talked to Rick last night, they have three applications out currently for insurance and as of last night they had not heard back, they will be in contact with each of them throughout the week to try and push it along a little faster. At this time there is no insurance set up however, that could change any day now. They are working it out for an entire season rather than a race to race basis. It really sounded promising and made me feel a lot better about this. I will keep you posted as any info comes my way.
In regards to the payout, I was told that the X-Mods will be paying $300 to win this weekend and that is very possible to increase. I am waiting to hear from the sponsors and powers that be as to how much and where that will go. However, the new payscale at UCS does show that every car that takes the green will get paid! I really like this change and i believe we have a lot of X-Mod drivers to thank for this change as they really pushed for that. The payout does increase based on car count but that will be seen on the smaller classes more so than the larger classes to prevent paying a class of 3 or 4 cars the same as a class of 12+.
Sorry for the delay in responding, I wanted to make sure i got as much info as possible. email: tbrewbaker@hotmail.com
Appreciate the prompt/concise response... It seems that there's a new attitude permeating around UCS...that's a welcome change. This could be a big year for you guys. The Barnett money. Show Low being closed&Grants the closest track proximity wise. If you guys are paying everyone that starts and $300.00 to win, You'll draw cars. Tucson recently bumped their X mod purse to $500.00 to win. (Which is more than most of the surrounding imca tracks are paying their A mods). The car count in the class grew by nearly all 1/3. They'll be running B mains soon. There's 50+ X mods between the two I-40 corridor tracks(Motiva/Grants). I can see you guys pulling 20+ for the Barnett point shows. Hope it all comes together.
Michael, I agree, I was a part of the Barnett Series in its hay day down south and saw the amazing payouts we were able to pay to the drivers at the end of the year, not just the top ones but all of them! It really did PAY to race! Also, great questions, I am sure you are not the only one wondering about this (myself included) I will work on getting in contact with Rick Stevenson (president) to see if i can get these answers for you ASAP. Also if anyone has questions on rules etc, check out the track webpage: www.uraniumcapitolspeedway.com
and most importantly, in case nobody has heard... This year they have lowered the annual membership from $25 to only $10email: tbrewbaker@hotmail.com
Hey everyone, if you might be racing this weekend, please take a couple minutes to fill this out for me so i make sure to announce your sponsors etc. This will help me out tremendously so i do not have to sort through as many papers at the track etc etc. Thanks in advance!
