As you can see some changes at the top of the leader boards in all divisions. Next races at the dirt at Sandia Speedway Saturday April 25th at night start time of 6:30PM. Wing Sprint, Mini Sprints, X Mods, Street Stocks and Cruiser/Hornets will be running. Lots of action brewing, don't miss any of the great dirt racing here in Albuquerque. See you all in two weeks.
Two good shows to start the season couldn't have asked for better weather track stayed racey. Now let's get the Buzz going around that Dirt Track Racing is back and its fun!
I remember when Sandia loosely translated meant first one to the bottom wins. Now with a real clay surface & emphasis on track prep...we're using every inch of real estate~ 3/4 wide racing, even on the day shows. ...that bodes well for our next show on April 25 which is a night race. Yesterday had a little bit of everything. Good racing, black flags, red flags, flips, spins, crashes, guys driving over their heads, drama, hurt feelings...just your basic dirt track show. Good early season car counts.17 X mods, few guys had last minute gremlins or we'd of pulled over 20. Next race we'll pick up 6/8 cars. Congratulations to my buddy Dee Yates on his 1st X mod feature. Watching him chase down A mods in practice, you just knew he was gonna grab a win. Thought he & Bones put on a great show at the front. Crowd was whole lot better than last season's last few shows. That's encouraging. 305 winged sprints doubled their car count over last year...more to come, good sign. A Night at the dirt track beats an isotopes game or arena football for entertainment value IMO. Saw into some old friends from back in the Speedway Park/Raceway days meandering around the pits, they all said they had a good time & will be back for sure. ...that was cool.
Hopefully people spread the word..and we start packing the joynt.
