Heard rumor Aztec and Cortez going x mod, white mountain soeedway park is staying x mod. Think it would be cool to get a touring series going, 2 day show once a month a different tracks. Aztec, show low, albuquerque, cruces etc etc...
Mychal? Chad? Royal?
Could be pretty cool

The rumors have been out there... Aztec & Cortez are pretty ingrained w/imca. Seems to work well for them, with all the tracks in the area being imca. I'll believe it when it actually happens.
Something to think about..tho, Last year Sherman Barnett offered us a Harley to raffle off. Basically revive the Barnett Harley Davidson series. He had it loaded on a trailer ready to send up here. ...unfortunately, couple problems arose (locally)&it never came to fruition. Sherman's only caveat was he wanted at least 2 tracks involved in order to make it more worthwhile. I'm pretty sure, he'd still go for it if asked. I'm thinking 1 day show... $1000.00 to win at each participating track. Sandia, Show low, Cruces, Aztec? Participation is voluntary, you don't wanna sell raffle tickets you don't have to. Just race...nothing changes. Sherman donated a Harley to grants couple years ago. An example of point funds distributed... Kevin Mcdonald sold all his tickets ($500.00 worth) At the end of the year he got a check for almost $1000.00. ...he finished 9th in points. It's there & I think it'd be a great series, IF you could get all the tracks to build schedules accordingly. Think about this... Saturday... Cruces pulled 20 X mods. Sandia drew 21. Aztec had nearly 20 xmods, southern & northern sport mods They all ran against each other, which doesn't benefit anyone. Given enough lead time, this deal could work. Guess we'll see...

Guess I'll take the time to get with everyone early In offseason... Really think this could be a cool deal. Especially with sherms Harley's... Even if Aztec doesn't go full time x mod, could still run a special event up there? How many people do you think we could get to travel to these touring shows?
Re: Possibility of a x-mod touring series with new tracks next year?
The idea has a lot of potential... I've talked to some people & the Aztec/Cortez/USRA scenario is being talked about seriously. Never would of thought that possible. I don't see 2 day shows working due to work & extra lodging expenses, not to mention extra burden on promoters, track prep, personal etc. If Sandia ' s schedule is as bizarre/dumb next season as it was this year (race 1 week then month off) then Aztec/Show Low should pick up Abq. Cars just wanting to race. As far as the Harley/raffle deal...EVERYBODY needs to be on board before we approach Sherm. That whole "hey can we have a Harley" ...uh, never mind, deal's not gonna happen again. As far as travelers,no idea.We tried everything this year to get the Cruces/EP guys up here . Nothing worked.Nobody came. If everyone was USRA, you'd probably get guys chasing national points. Greg (Gorham) showed up to mod madness only because his wife wanted to take the kids to see the balloons.First Cruces visitor in 2 years. Speaking of Gorham, he showed up w/a LS 5.3 litre truck motor that we've talked about. Ram 3rd in X mod feature, after starting in back. And ran a close 3rd in the A mod feature behind Josh & Aaron Spangler...on a track that had grip. That little 327 spanked a couple of big cubic inch, high dollar 'set on shrapnel'...open motors, that was fun to watch..He ran the only gear he had (6.33) said he'd of done a lot better with a .50 Anyway, looks like we're gonna have several neighborhood tracks to run X mod next season. Hopefully everyone gets on the same page & schedules accordingly, so we don't all race on the same night. Realistically, How many cars you think Show Low gets next year? I LOVE that place.
