She's right of course that obesity is a definite factor for many musculoskeletal problems. Not new info there. But I have to wonder how successful she is in actually guiding patients through the long term process of losing weight and making real changes in life style. Most obese people already have above average knowledge of calories and exercise and what they should be doing. Lack of knowledge is usually not the issue. It is the emotional, compulsive, and even addictive behaviors that drive a person to obesity and brings them back to it even after weight loss. If it was only lack of knowledge, then once we "learned" we would never have a problem again.
Anyway...It's after midnight here and I am very sleepy so I may not have read the article correctly. I'll look at it again in the morning after coffee
