I bundled up with my earmuffs, leather gloves, fur coat and scarf. It was a short walk from the garage to the theater. So, no biggie.
The musical was just so-so. I've definitely seen better. For the amount of money I paid for the ticket, the musical should have been longer than 90 minutes. Most musicals are 2 1/2 hours long (with an intermission). I expected Tony Shalhoub to sing something. But, his singing voice was subpar (hoarse) and I think he had a cold.
Anyway, I saw it for myself and I came to my own conclusions about the show. I'd give it the grade of "C". Rated: 6 out of 10 (only becaue the musicians (in the "band" were excellent). At least they were real musicians. In the Broadway musical "Beautiful"--the Carole King story, all the singers and actors were faking their ability to play a musical instrument——from the lead actress to everyone else who feigned to play an instrument (which were a lot of cast members). I felt cheated.
Anyway, I returned home safely and made my tomato soup with chopped mushrooms and some frozen peas. Tomorrow we are bracing for a Nor'easter (with about 6 inches of snow). I am SO jealous of you, Pam.
