I know I am a few days late responding to this post, but here's an idea. I've suggested this to clients in the past and it has worked for some. Getting through a full 100% day on SS can be daunting. We can feel anxious and doubtful about our ability to see it through if we have had failed attempts in the past. But...if you were preparing for a surgical procedure and were ordered not to eat for 24 hours, would you be able to comply? My guess is that you would because your surgery is in the balance and you would see that as more important then any thoughts of food or cravings you may have. So assuming that you could accomplish this medical order, why not try and pretend that this is what is being required of you? I know it may sound lame, but this is ALL a mind game really, isn't it? Our thoughts are the switch that either get us through, or flips on us and off we go in to the dark. When we go in to this with the same thoughts and emotions we carried with us through the past attempts, assuming they were unsuccessful, then there is a good chance we will repeat patterns. Just for the heck of it, give this a try. Tell yourself that you have been medically ordered to abstain from all food other then your approved formula to prepare for a much needed procedure. It may get you through those first 24 hours and that will propel you in to the next 24.
