I have gravitational eczema which started in my thirties, and also fractured my left leg tibia (spelling?) in 2002. For years I had problems with swelling, and I have always retained water. The swelling was a concern after I developed Cellulitus back in 2007 but the doctor that tried to help me prescribed steroids & diuretics, one after the other that I was allergic to. He sent me to see a dermatologist who poo pood the idea of treating my skin issues with an elimination diet, treating my leg issues with a steroid cream instead. I think doctors can not address all issues because for one thing, they aren't God, and they have time constraints and often times limited resources. The clinic that I usually go to is sooo busy that they had no appointments available on July 2nd so, lucky for me, my other option was to go to the local hospital urgent care and ER department. I was fortunate that the ER staff acknowledged the reoccurrence rashes, and cellulitus were related to the lymphedema which the other clinic doctor had already diagnosed. I am back to work, and doing better, still swollen, but thanks to the specialty clinic connected to the hospital am on my way to a recovery and treatment plan that will stay with me the rest of my life.
My husband is doing really well considering his gallbladder surgery had complications.
We had a really nice 4th of July and wouldn't have been able to see our grandson and daughter the next weekend so we were happy to have the time with them. My older sister came over too. We just took our time doing the cook out. I made Potato Salad the day before, and precooked some of the barbecue. My husband did fine. We spent a lot of time having others wait on us.
I am not SSing yet- just watching what I eat very carefully. There are better days ahead.
You take care. Everyone have a good evening.
