Hi group. We (me, husband Andy, daughter Kim) drove up to MD to visit my 2 sons and deposit Kim there to spend a month and a half with her brothers. She has time finally with no doctor's appointments and she deserved a break after the year she's had (cancer). It was a 15 hour drive there and back. Brutal! Andy and I only stayed 3 nights and we've been home for a couple of days recovering! lol!
My oldest son has a smoker/BBQ food truck and my younger son works in the kitchen of the country club nearby. Need I say how reckless my eating was this past week ? I think not. Yes..there was also a trip to the local Amish marketplace and bakery. I feel like the Goodyear blimp that someone was inflating and forgot to turn off the pump.
The damage was done. The clothes are tight. The ankles are swollen. The good news is that I have a supply of Cambridge in my pantry. My husband and I have been looking forward to some alone time in our little house without my daughter here and that was going to include cooking for two, but I have damage control to do first as my health is very easily tipped to the negative when I eat badly or gain weight. I'm feeling it, so for this week beginning tomorrow I will be SSing to get things back in balance, clean out the junk, get my blood sugar back under control, and maybe be able to zip my pants up again!
I can relate

lol! What? No stretchy pants?
I'm already feeling better and more like my normal self with just a couple of days SSing. Whew!! What a relief. Eating stuff I normally wouldn't never seems like that big of a deal, considering I so rarely do it, but the impact for me is HUGE! It's really shocking how dramatically it effects my overall health and I feel like garbage.
But..you still have to live in the world and I was not going to refuse when my boys want to share their cooking skills with me and the family. My body reacts to food very differently then most people and that's for me to manage. I'm grateful I have Cambridge to run to for damage control! lol
