Cellulitus Again Posted by MaryL on 5/3/2018, 5:37 pm I spent the morning in the hospital Urgent Care Unit. They gave me antibiotic through an IV. I have Cellulitus in my right leg and it has blistered. Now I understand why I had the headache and flu like symptons. It wasn't carb withdrawal. It was the beginnings of the bacterial infection. (No I didn't get bit by my cat this time. I am prone to the infections due to risk factors, obesity being 1, gravitational eczema, and edema in my legs, another. I can't have dairy, anything with magnesium, iron , and calcium 2 hours before and 4 hours after taking the pills that were prescribed. I went off the SS and had fish, and Brussel sprouts for lunch. I crave the Brussel sprouts! This evening I'll have my shake. This experience has mad e me want to work harder to let go of the weight. Everyone have a good evening.

Just know that once you make some progress with your weight loss you will likely be able to leave this behind you. Take care and keep us updated on your healing.

I know the situation would propel most of us into uncontrollable eating, but just take a deep breath and continue on the Brussel sprouts until you get your bearings. Fish is good too! Only don't give up right now, MaryL. Don't give in to the obvious "comforting" measures that you (and all of us) tend to turn to in these time of stress. Keep trying, MaryL. You will be the better person for having resisted the temptation. Hang in there!!

PS We can search the earth and I doubt we will find an obese person that ate fish and Brussels sprouts (Unless followed by a pizza and a whole cake) You are doing great. Feel better dear.

I wouldn't dismiss the idea of having the whole cake at this time either. I am a food addict and for some reason cake is one of my worst trigger foods. Taking it a day at a time. I hear people say..."Oh I just had a bite" Or a diet tip "To make the perfect bite" with a bits of food on the fork from the whole plate, and leave the rest. Or order one dessert for the whole table and have 8 forks. What??? What is this foreign language these people are speaking???? I would rather, (well, HAVE TOO) have none than one bite. It is the AA saying. And it is a true true statement for me. One bite is too many, and 1000 are not enough. That Bite That perfect bite. That one fork full bite shared with the table.... Springboard for me into my Tanzanian Devil Carb Seeking self. Soooooooooooooooooo not worth it. But we all know, we are always just one bite from that, no matter what the circumstances.
