Pre-Thanksgiving game plan Posted by Pam T on 11/21/2018, 2:01 pm It's the day before Thanksgiving. Is there an internal debate going on in your mind about the choices you will make? We can feel so torn this time of year between wanting to stay on our diet, and wanting to indulge like everyone else. It can all be so overwhelming...and it's only the beginning! We have WEEKS of choice making ahead of us. Instead of looking at the remaining days of 2018 as a lost cause, why not decide to contain your celebratory eating to ONLY the couple of days they are intended for? Do that, and stick to your Cambridge the other days and you will actually continue to make progress

If it's there I'm going to eat a meal. The key is training myself to stop at the first hint of fullness. I think about the comparison to the stomach as the size of 2 fists. That pretty much limits the amount I can eat. I am stressed about the cleaning and the cooking. I'll be so relieved to have it over!!!! Everyone Happy Thanksgiving

Hmmm...maybe one empty and 2 full? lol! I am back on SS as of this morning. We didn't have much in the way of leftovers. Just enough for Andy to have it for dinner tonight so it worked out well. Frankly, even though we didn't have a full Thanksgiving meal, what we did have just about did me in! I was happy to get back on track today. I hope you had an enjoyable holiday and didn't work too hard.

The almost universal recommendation for portion control is the following: protein the size of your palm,(4 ounces a deck of cards) and the carb the size of your fist. Based on three sources: Bill Phillips "BODY FOR LIFE" Kim Bensen "FINALLY THIN", and Dr. Barry Siegel's "THE ZONE", I stand by the recommendation of using 2 of my fists to just what my plate and portion sizes should look like.
