Anyone here? Posted by Pam T on 2/21/2019, 9:22 am Tumble weeds are rolling through this message board! Feb is always a slow month, but it's also the gateway to Spring! This is NOT the time to get complacent about your health or your weight. It is the time to prepare for those warm sunny days of no sweaters or coats to hide under. Please read my post below. I'm hoping someone will take me up on my experiment and see how (or if) it works for them.

Trying to fight for him and protect him in a broken medical system is exhausting. I am on a roll with my Cambridge. I am not perfect. But, I am more en pointe than off. I will be going to New Orleans for a conference at the end of the week and I am so nervous leaving my husband. I have some good friends and colleagues who will be there for him in my stead, but I am still anxious. I am only going to this symposium because I need to maintain my certification. Otherwise, I would be with him. After 258 days of being with him every day (no matter what) since his stroke, many say I need this break. But, I can't help worrying about him. Keep praying for us.

I can only imagine how stressful it will be for you to leave him, but it sounds like he will be in good and trusted hands so take this time for yourself. It will do you good and maybe it will be that break that I'm sure you could use. A little bit of normal life amidst the chaos, yes? You and your husband are always on our minds here in our house. It was so good to see you on the board. And good for you for still taking care of your own health!

I'm taking my daughter with me to the conference (for moral support). We both will be leaning on each other. My husband is ever so slowly improving, but he is still hemiparetic on the left with dysphagia and has developed seizures (now controlled with medication). His intellect and cognition though are totally intact. Thank God!! After seeing my weight last night, I had some guacamole and chips with a salami sandwich. You see!! Numbers just MESS with my head. Anyway, I know it is stress and I am going to go forward with Cambridge today. Please keep praying for us.

Re: Thank you! Posted by Pam T on 3/2/2019, 9:55 pm, in reply to "Thank you!" I would suggest that you get rid of your scale. Seriously...in the trash! You know it's up to no good so why keep it? Once you are down to a size you feel is your goal, then go buy another and use it for maintenance.
