No Food July — No matter What!!! Posted by Yvonne on 7/1/2019, 8:14 am Hi, Folks: June was brutal for me!! But I ate the last Mac ‘n’ Cheese at 11:40 pm yesterday. Despite the upcoming holiday (again), I have vowed to be straight sole source for the month of July in order to wipe away the sins of June. Payback is a b——ch!!! Anyway, I slurped my shake this morning before I left for the hospital. I hope the eternal frustrations of the day do not derail me. Have a good one folks!! No weighing until August 1 (my husband’s birthday)!!

Anything you want today, will still be there when you are at your goal. If you still want it then, you can have it, but chances are, you won't. This is how I stayed the course while losing my weight.

Both!! Posted by YVONNE on 7/2/2019, 11:14 pm, in reply to "Re: No Food July — No matter What!!!" I have programmed myself to appease my "mouth hunger" and in so doing overeat!! I am a food addict and I know it. I just LOVE FOOD! But, it has been to my detriment. Now, with the physiology of Cambridge (modified fasting), the ketosis suppresses my hunger and I can function throughout the day without being hungry. But, waiting for that ketosis to "kick in" is a killer. Tomorrow is the third day for me and it usually is the day I "break". I have to steal myself, knowing that it is "coming for me", i.e., hunger. But, I have my fat thighs to handle any need for calories. So, I ain't starvin' and I keep telling myself, "It will all be there when you are finished getting to your weight." Hang in there, SYL!!

Hunger Posted by Pam T on 7/3/2019, 7:19 pm, in reply to "Both!!" One little trick to handle physical hunger while on Cambridge is salt. Ketosis causes the kidneys to release water and sodium. Sometimes the body confuses this with hunger. Get some Redmonds sea salt or any good quality pink sea salt. Put a little in your water or coffee. Salt actually smooths out the bitterness of coffee. Or even just put 1/4 tsp or so in your hand and toss it under your tongue. Drink some water after. You can also take a swig of pickle or olive brine. It totally shuts down hunger within a few minutes for me. It also helps if you are getting leg cramps from the electrolytes lost in the first few days.

The "fam" arrived with all of its disruptions and needs. I love them, but I just wish that they would handle their own "stuff" without involving me. Anyway, it's July 5th. I still have time to get back on the horse and ride to the end of the month.
