Day #2 -- How about Labor Day? Posted by Yvonne on 8/8/2019, 11:42 am Good afternoon everyone: I haven't been on the Board for a while because of so many "loose ends" that I hadn't planned on. Once that happens, you know, everything goes to he** in a handbasket. I have my head screwed back on correctly and I need to keep going to get to my goal. 50 pounds is great (don't get me wrong), but getting to my goal is the prize. It's been a year since my husband's devastating stroke. He is coming along slowly and surely. However, it has taken a LOT out of me. I had never envisioned celebrating his birthday at the rehab nursing hospital, but we do what we need to do. Below are photos of his "big day"! Last year, I didn't think he was going to make it, but God has given him another year and hopefully many more. Keep going folks!!

I am so happy you still have your dear husband with you and I know you have moved heaven and earth to get his needs met. Your devotion has been a shining example of what love and commitment is. Now I must comment on how positively healthy and tiny you look! You are so close to your goal!

I am over half way to where I want to be, but having to deal with all the nonsense surrounding my husband's care, a new perinatal position and just getting some sleep has derailed me for the past month, I'd say. Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving up but I am NOT as focused as I once was. I am trying again today and hopefully in two weeks before Labor Day (which is an artificial temporary goal) I will be feeling like I have some control of this. Thank you for ALWAYS being there for me and for everyone on this Support Board. God Bless You!!
