As I was reading and re-reading the "Official Cambridge Diet Handbook", published in 1983 by Eugene Boe, it recommended a two-week commitment on the part of the person who has chosen this form of dieting.
Today, I am in my 4th day of my two-week commitment to sole sourcing on Cambridge. Yes, there were many challenges, but I know in my heart that the ketosis (once it comes) will take me right on into the last days of the commitment I have promised myself to keep.
No weighing, just focus on those days of hard-core sole sourcing. I always tell people that the Cambridge approach is very easy but it is very difficult. Your body and appetite are screaming for going back to the days of satiety with fast food and your mind is just getting into its stride to override the "urges".
I use to tell myself, "Just for Today" when I started Cambridge. However, that phrase comes from a mindset of weakness as if I am pleading with myself to just "hang on" because I was overwhelmed by the change in my diet. Now, I tell myself, "NO MATTER WHAT", which to me, comes from a position of strength---that I will overcome anything and everything that gets in my way of sole sourcing until my commitment is done. Same goal, different approach. I feel empowered.
